Step 2: Prepare the Shadow Box
- Disassemble the shadow box frame by removing the back panel and glass or acrylic sheet.
- I like to go with this case here found on Amazon. Its large enough for all my jerseys, it has 98% UV Protection Acrylic, it comes with 2 hangers and you can lock it.
- Place the mat board inside the frame, ensuring it fits securely.
Step 3: Position the Jersey
- Lay the jersey on a clean, flat surface.
- Arrange the jersey within the shadow box, ensuring it’s centered and displayed as desired.
Step 4: Attach the Jersey
- Use acid-free mounting tape to secure the jersey to the mat board discreetly.
- Add pins or Velcro strips for additional security.
- For velcro strips I like to use VELCRO brand Heavy duty fasteners.
Step 5: Add Additional Elements (Optional)
- If you have team or player photos, memorabilia, or plaques, strategically place them around the jersey on the mat board. I usually get my mat board from Amazon.
Step 6: Seal the Shadow Box
- Clean the glass or acrylic sheet to remove any smudges or fingerprints.
- I use Blue Ribbon Plexi-Clean for cleaning my acrylic.
- Place the glass or acrylic sheet back onto the frame and reassemble the shadow box.
- Secure the back panel with provided fasteners or screws.
Step 7: Hang the Display
- Install the jersey hanger onto the back of the shadow box as per the manufacturer’s instructions.
- Use a level to ensure the shadow box is hung straight on the wall.
Congratulations! You’ve successfully created a personalized autograph jersey case. Adjust the steps and materials based on your preferences and the specific features of your shadow box. Display your cherished memorabilia with pride!
